Download extension-wasm-offline v0.2.0, the Explained API edition for Chrome. It requires your own DeepSeek API key and internet access; model and search calls are billed to your DeepSeek account.

Download and unzip the v0.2.0 API edition.
Open chrome://extensions and enable Developer mode.
Choose Load unpacked and select the folder containing manifest.json.
Enter your DeepSeek API key in setup, select Enable lookups, then Start exploring. Refresh any reading page already open.

Your API key is saved in local extension storage on this device. Triggered lookups send selected text, optional nearby context and any search queries to DeepSeek’s official APIs. API calls are billed to your DeepSeek account. Read the full privacy notice.
